coach Katie Rasbeary

Coach Katie Rasbeary has nine years of coaching experience and joins the Thunder in 2026 as the High School Girls Head Coach.

Katie brings an impressive background as both a player and coach. She began her collegiate career at Long Beach State University (NCAA Division I), where she helped the program earn an NCAA Tournament appearance. She later transferred to Tarleton State University (then NCAA Division II), earning both All-Conference and All-American honors.  Following her playing career, Katie continued pursuing her passion for basketball through coaching. She served as a Varsity Assistant Coach at Wylie East High School, helping the Lady Raiders make a deep run to the Regional Quarterfinals. She later became the Head Girls Basketball Coach at Burnett Junior High while also serving as the Girls Athletic Coordinator for Wylie ISD's junior high and intermediate campuses.

Katie is passionate about developing confident, fundamentally sound players who compete with excellence. She has a strong offensive mind, a heart for mentoring young women, and a desire to help each player pursue her goals—whether that's becoming the best teammate she can be or continuing her basketball career beyond high school.  Katie and her husband, Clayton, live in Rowlett with their three young children.

We are grateful to have Katie joining the Dallas Thunder family and look forward to the impact she will have on our girls!
